Rep. Griffith declares on the floor of the House, "It is time to eliminate the estate tax."

On November 18, 2009, Rep. Parker Griffith [D-AL] asked the House to abolish the federal estate tax:

Right - Reduce FET Rep. Griffith provides the following reasons for full repeal of the federal estate tax:

  • The estate tax is a form of double taxation.
  • It adversely impacts small businesses (and the American dream) by costing "small business owners thousands of hours in manpower and millions of dollars in legal counsel."
